Texas Caucus Edition, Hillary vs. Obama

Althouse is all over Obama's attempted theft of more delegates than he deserves in the Texas Caucus, read away, earliest to latest:

Why are the results so different in the primary and the caucus in Texas on the same day and what does that mean more generally about caucus results?

Those chaotic caucuses. (Just another opportunity for Hillary to be sleazy?)

Hillary Clinton wants the Democratic Party to check into the irregulaties in the Texas caucuses.

In Texas, the Obama campaign tries to win over Clinton's county convention delegates.

Fraud in Texas? "It looks like there was data entry error. You ended up being coded as BOTH a Hillary Clinton and a Barack Obama delegate."

"We can't let them win more delegates just by not telling us when the convention is!" — more Texas county convention maneuvering.

Obama's night

Obama sweeps 3 states- by large margins, is this the tipping point? I don't see how Hillary can spin this into anything good.

Obama claims delegate lead!

In your face EXPERTS! We can continue! I was worried that Hillary had won and ended this little blog. The latest (from Drudge of course):

In a surprise twist after a chaotic Super Tuesday, Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) passed Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) in network tallies of the number of delegates the candidates racked up last night.

The Obama camp now projects topping Clinton by 13 delegates, 847 to 834.
A close contest means we'll get better ideas from the candidates right?

Clinton wins California

Clinton wins California, already called with just 16% in. Looks like the experts were right, is this the end of Hillary vs. Obama? We'll know better tomorrow when the dust settles.

Super Tuesday

Hillary vs. Obama likely all comes down to tomorrow, super Tuesday. Predictions: Huffington Post (too much effort to read), Race 4 2008 (Clinton), The Art of a Rant (Clinton), stoopider (Obama), Publius Endures (Clinton), Kos (Clinton), Delaware Liberal (Clinton).

My quick take is that Clinton is the favorite (Obama only got the nod from a site called stoopider...), but ask the Patriots what being the favorite got them.

Delegate count

Hillary: 210
Obama: 123

Scrubs: 53

When will Mike Gravel drop? Is Edwards shooting for VP again? Is three days between elections too long to wait or what? Why can't we have a primary every day?

Obama's flag pin

First was Hillary's laugh, now its Obama's flag pin, next stop, Edward's shoes, its a real nail biter of an election season so far.

Hillary v Obama, the laugh edition

Obama loses and Hillary wins this one. Everyone is talking about Hill's laugh(TGW, Swamp, CY, PL), no one at all (okay one guy) is talking about Obama's laugh. Obama needs to draw attention away from her corny laugh immediately and back to her stupid $5,000 a child plan. Why would she encourage people to have more kids, isn't enough enough already?

Bush admin backs Hillary

Okay, they didn't come right out and say it, but its hard not to think otherwise lately, Brendan Nyhan makes the obvious pot remark regarding the recent Bush admin comments:

Pot/kettle alert: According to Drudge, a senior White House official accused Barack Obama of "intellectual laziness":

As for Obama, a senior White House official said the freshman senator from Illinois was “capable” of the intellectual rigor needed to win the presidency but instead relies too heavily on his easy charm.

Perhaps proving them right, Obama is busy planning to raise social security taxes via Mover Mike:

Sen. Barack Hussein Obama touches the third rail of politics by suggesting we solve the social security problem by subjecting income of those earning more than $97,000 to a 12.4 percent tax.

The "tax the rich" then lower the taxes into the middle class is actually intellectually lazy, or at least overdone and people catch on. In California, household income of $97K/year isn't exactly rich.
